Hopes for the Future

We, of course, have high hopes for the future. Our first priority is to breed dogs who have outstanding temperaments with people and other dogs. We don't want any resource guarding, dominance, fear, shyness, separation anxiety, or hyperactivity. We want to breed dogs whom we could turn over to anyone of any age and never worry about what might happen. Our next priority is excellent general health, free from any problems that could prevent a dog from being an active member of her household. We strive to have dogs who will excel in performance events. For us, this means agility, hunt tests, obedience, and rally. We hope that our dogs, given the appropriate training by their interested owners, could also do therapy work, tracking, flyball, and other activities.

We would also very much like to have dogs who are able to finish their conformation Championships. This goal, however, does not over-influence our bias in terms of looking at breeding dogs--if we discover a problem with a dog's temperament in terms of aggression towards dogs or people, resource guarding of any kind, or any neurotic behaviors (such as obsessive circling in a crate or separation anxiety), then that dog is removed from being a possibility in our breeding program, no matter how beautiful he or she may be (or how much money we may have spent to get the dog here!).
